Transnet Bursaries for Engineering and Commerce for 2023
Transnet Freight Rail is offering bursaries for specified engineering and commercial streams for 2023. The bursary applications are now open and will close of the 19th of September 2022. Those interested in Transnet bursaries may apply online by registering their CVs on Transnet recruitment site.

Who can Apply?
This bursary is for Grade 12 learners who are South African citizens who obtains 60% and above on specified subjects as stated below.
More About Transnet Bursary
As part of our pipeline and skills development strategy, we are offering Engineering and Specialist Commercial related bursaries which aligned to the Transnet’s business strategy.
Position outputs:
Engineering Bursary:
Grade 12 Learners – (SA Citizens) who have obtained a minimum level five (60% and above) in English, Mathematics and
Physical Science.
Specialist Commercial Bursary:
Grade 12 Learners – (SA Citizens) who have obtained a minimum level five (60% and above) in English, and relevant subjects in line with the requirements of the preferred area of study.
Qualifications & Experience:
Engineering Bursary:
Current tertiary students studying towards B.Eng. or BSc Engineering are encouraged to apply for one of the full-time
comprehensive bursaries in the following disciplines:
• Mechanical
• Electrical – (Heavy Current)
• Industrial
• Electronics
• Mechatronics
• Chemical
• Computer Engineering
Specialist Commercial Bursary:
Current tertiary students studying towards Degree & National Diploma are encouraged to apply for one of the full-time
comprehensive bursaries in the following disciplines:
• Computer Science
• Information Science / Technology
• HR Information Systems
• Business/ Data Analytics
• Logistics / Supply Chain Management
• Procurement
• Safety and Environmental Management
• Human Factor Management / Ergonomics
• Business Science and Economics
• Risk and Compliance Management
• Legal
• Sales & Marketing
