How much is Child Support Grant this month
The child support grant amount for this month is R530 per month per child. Those who are also receiving Child Support Grant Top-up will receive an additional R250 making it the total of R780 per month.
What is a CSG Top-up Grant and Why was it Introduced?
According to SASSA, The CSG Top-Up grant is introduced to assist relatives caring for orphans to provide for their basic needs. The purpose is to keep them within their extended family environment without removing them from familiar households.
These children will receive their basic CSG of R530, plus an additional amount of R250, bringing the total to R780.
Who Qualifies for CSG Top-up
To qualify, applicants must prove that a child is an orphan by providing:
Certified copies of the death certificates of the child’s parents; or
Where the death certificate of one of the parents cannot be obtained by the applicant, a certified copy of the death certificate of one parent plus an affidavit by the applicant attesting to the unknown status of the child’s other parent.
