It is now three months since the new cycle of the COVID-19 SRD Grant has started. The grant reapplications were reopened back in April this year. This was to allow applicants to resubmit their applications if they still need the assistance from the scheme.

New Regulations for SRD Administration

The new cycle was established with a set of new regulations since the state of disaster for the COVID-19 has been lifted. Sassa has re-established the new grant under the Social Assistant Act which requires them to change some of the rules and procedures to be followed to administer the SRD Grant.

Reconfirmation for SRD Applications

One of the rules is that, all applicants must reconfirm their applications after every three months. “All SRD R350 grant applicants must reconfirm their grant applications at least once every 3 months.” Sassa indicated on their social media pages. The agency continued and clarifies why that has to be done. “This reconfirmation informs SASSA that applicants still need and qualify for the grant in terms of the regulations.”

The process to reconfirm Sassa Application for R350

If you are an applicant or current recipient of the SRD Grant, you have to follow the steps below in order to reconfirm your Sassa SRD application.

How to Reconfirm Sassa R350 SRD Application (Sassa Reconfirm for July)


Step 1: Go to the SRD website here or click https://srd.sassa.gov.za

Step 2: Scroll down to “Reconfirm your grant application”

Step 3: Click the yellow bar that reads “click here to reconfirm your existing application”

Step 4: Enter your ID number 

Step 5: Enter you mobile number

Step 6: Click send SMS, You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) via SMS

Step 7: Enter the OTP

Step 8: Click on verify pin

Step 9: Follow the remaining steps to complete the process, and then you are done.

    I got declined for the new R350 SRD due to ‘alternative source of income’ but I do not work at all and don’t receive any regular payments in my bank account of over R595,00 per month.There was two months where I received birthday and Xmas cash gifts etc but these are not regular income payments so that is unfair as it is only 2 months of the year that there is more income coming into my Bank Account. I have sent an email to them but no reply yet what else can I do?

  12. I still need this grant because I lost my job due to covid and have lost much more since then and I have not been able to find work since.
    I really appreciate it when I do get my payments, even though it is not every month for some reason but I am still very appreciative for it.

I’m job hunting but I found out tht I’m 2 old 2 get a decent job even though I have a good CV as proof, nd 2 young nd healthy 2 receive a grant.This R350 help 2 cover a hole.

    Why it might be a good idea to not help by using my bank account not even my 10cm neighbors.

  24. It’s not fair that am declined reason being I have a salary maybe because I gave the account number that my daughter is getting her grant money from, when I try to re apply the link takes forever to open and the closing date is around the corner and I can’t re apply
