Sassa Announcements on SRD Payments
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has publicly announced that the payments for the current cycle of the Social Relief of Distress Grant will be paid in the middle of June. This comes after numerous complaints from beneficiaries through the Sassa social media platforms about their payments.
Multiple Payments for Beneficiaries
Sassa has indicated that, they may process multiple payments for beneficiaries to cover the backlog. That means those who applied in April may be able to get their monies for April and for the other two months, May and June as part of these multiple payments.
When will Payments Be Made?
The message from the agency reads: “Payments for the new cycle of the special COVID-19 SRD grant (from April 2022) will be paid as from mid-June 2022
Outstanding Payments
The organisation continues and said “SASSA will continue clearing outstanding payments from the previous cycle as and when the bank details are confirmed.” This means that if you have not yet updated your banking details on the SRD system, you have to do so immediately.
Sassa message continues
“The payments will not be done together, but will be done month by month.
More than one payment may be made in a month, but no one will receive double payments in amount.”
Backlog clearance
“SASSA will do these multiple payments in a month until the backlog is finalized, where after monthly payments will resume.”
Sassa SRD Payment dates for June 2022
There is no specific date for SRD payment from the month of June 2022 as the Post Office is no longer paying out the SRD R350 Grants from their branches. The payment dates used to be issued were for those who were receiving their R350 grants from the Post Office. Post Office used to schedule SRD grant payments according to the last 3 digit of the beneficiary’s ID numbers.

My Status for SRD still reads Pending since April 2022. May 2022 month has not even appeared on platform. How can we check May 2022 and June 2022 if the platform is inactive. ANC is talk and talk and talk no action at all. We have been starving for three months now and ANC continues to talk and talk.
That is not all my wife who works at ECD facility is still waiting for ECD Stimulus Relief promised by the President more that two years now. ANC is still talking no action.

SASSA Employees are paid monthly and do not care about the needy ones, they are angry that unemployed people get R350 which they claim belongs to them in a form of increment. Heartlessness in the Government people will get them down to the knees of the unemployed soon.
The government is really failing us as the unemployed youth of our country. Please give us what we are desperate to receive and stop giving us false hopes and empty promises. Deliver and get our votes otherwise you will be responsible for your own votes loss comes 2024 elections. We are tired of pending pending status on the srd grant status of ours

Good Morning all. So true what Minister Zulu says and do according to the news broadcasted not sure who is correct and who is wrong but if true all press release statements I received prior to this one is totally in coherent to what was released and as stated previously not sure who is correct or not but what is more disturbing is that they not going to pay over a million applicants as the end results is what is based on reports from Transunion’ Financial Institutions etc and if you received assistance from family members then you will also be declined. Are we living in a Democratic Country or am I smelling Autocratic behaviour being portrayed here as who is Sassa to decide that only the poorest who really needs the money will be paid. All the delays in Payment was for us to agree to the new terms and conditions which we had no say over but to accept for them to get access to and what has our parents Ids got to do with us unemployed people. Where is equality,humanity and Democracy in this Country. We have no more rights they just do as they please and I went to put my life at risk dodging bullets for fighting for a Democratic Country. I am patiently waiting on my outcome then I will really base my opinion to see if Democracy is really being practiced in South Africa as this is now getting 3 fold worse than the Apartheid Era in reverse.
