How to apply for SRD R350 Grant 2023 to 2024
The SRD R350 grant was launched in 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic devastation caused in South Africa. The South African Government through the Department of Social Development’ South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) on monthly basis disburse the SRD grant to the needy citizens of the country including legal asylum seekers.
If you think you qualify for the R350 SRD grant, you can apply at any time using official platform of your choice. These includes SRD website, WhatsApp, USSD and GovChat.
Ways and steps to apply for R350 Grant
There are several ways you can use to apply for the SRD grant. Note that, if you have already applied and you have ben approved, there is no need to reapply now. Below you will find different channels you can use to apply for R350 SRD Grant in 2023 until 2024.
SRD Grant has been extended until the end of March 2024. If you qualify for the grant you may apply online or via WhatsApp.
Here are the channels you can use to apply for the R350 grant:
Sassa SRD Website
- The Sassa SRD Website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za. You can apply for the grant by visiting Sassa SRD website. Follow the easy instructions there. Start by entering your ID numbers and cellphone number of the space provided under “Apply” for the grant bar.
- WhatsApp: 082 046 8553. The second method you can use is WhatsApp. U se the number provided here to start a conversation with the chat bot to apply.
USSD
- USSD Line: Dial *134*7737#. If you prefer applying with a USSD, do so by dialling the number mentioned here and follow the instructions thereafter.
GovChat
- GovChat: https: //govchat.app/login. Another method you can use is GovChat which is the SA Government messenger chat platform. You may also go to Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/govchat.org in order to use the messenger platform.
Choose your preferred channel to apply for the SRD R350 grant if you meet the minimum requirements.
Minimum requirements for the grant
Who qualifies to apply for R350
You qualify to apply for the R350 grant if you are:
a) A South African Citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee registered on the Home Affairs database and persons who are holders of special permits under the Special Angolan Dispensation, the Lesotho Exemption Permit dispensation and the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit Dispensation, and asylum seekers whose section 22 permits or visas are valid or were valid on 15 March 2020;
b) Currently residing within the borders of the Republic of South Africa;
c) Above the age of 18 and below the age of 60;
d) Unemployed;
e) Not receiving any social grant in respect of him or herself;
f) Not receiving an unemployment insurance benefit and does not qualify to receive an unemployment insurance benefit;
g) Not receiving a stipend from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme and other financial aid;
h) Not receiving any other government COVID-19 response support;
i) Not a resident in a government funded or subsidized institution.

Why my sassa money it says I have registered for uif n am not working
Hi, I have a problem with my application being declined everytime I apply for the grant. The reason given is that I am UIF registered but I’m not employed. How do I go about fixing this issue?
Hi I applied for my son mihlali Papu last year December it always approved but there are no dates what must I do.
Also last week I applied for my brother Zandisile Ntozini can you please check there what did I do wrong or what must I do in order for the application to be a success
