About enke
enke has partnered with 23 organisations in Gauteng, Limpopo, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape to provide 3,000 youth volunteer opportunities. This is one of the youth empowerment programmes that no youth can afford to miss.
Funding for the organisation
The enke: Y4S Programme is supported by the National Youth Service, which is one of the components of the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI). The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is responsible for the National Youth Service, and the National Treasury’s Jobs Fund is the appointed Fund Manager.
Target areas
For you to apply for the opportunities you must be from Gauteng, Limpopo, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape Provinces.
Selection criteria for the programme
- Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 35 will be eligible.
- Applicants should have no contractual obligations towards other companies.
- Applicants should have South African citizenship.
- Should be available for the duration of the project and prepared to sign a Contract.
- Applicants must be residing within close proximity of the project sites in selected provinces
DURATION
The programme will run for 6 months
STIPEND
Maximum of R1 484,16 per month (16 hours per week).

- 2,000 – with enke: Y4S Host Partner Organisations in 4 Provinces
- 1,000 – independent volunteering with enke: Y4S Independent Service Campaigns
