Invitation to Apply for Eskom YES Programme

Eskom is inviting applications for its 2026 Youth Employment Service (YES) Internship Programme, aimed at creating meaningful work opportunities for unemployed young South Africans.

The YES initiative is a public-private partnership led by the Presidency to tackle youth unemployment across the country. Through this programme, Eskom offers young people the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience and take their first step into the job market within South Africa’s energy sector.

Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12-month fixed-term contract and placed within Eskom’s Distribution division in the Cape Coastal Cluster, Western Cape.

Candidates may be placed at various Eskom sites across the Western Cape, including:

– Boland Sector (Worcester)
– Helderberg Sector (Grabouw, Somerset West, Polkadraai)
– Overberg Sector (Caledon)
– Garden Route (George)
– Khayelitsha
– Tableview Sector (Bellville, Kraaifontein)
– West Coast Sector (Malmesbury, Vredenburg, Vredendal)

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Eskom YES Internship Programme, applicants must:

– Be a South African citizen
– Be between the ages of 18 and 34
– Have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, and/or a post-matric qualification
– Not have been permanently employed by a single employer for more than one year
– Not be studying full-time during the year of employment
– Not have previously participated in the YES initiative
