NSFAS applications for 2023 academic year are open. If you are planning to study in 2023 and needs NSFAS bursary, this is your time to apply. Follow the steps below to create myNSFAS account and apply.
If you are first time NSFAS applicant, you have to start by creating myNSFAS account. Below are the steps to follow:
How to Create myNSFAS Account
Step 1: Go to NSFAS website https://www.nsfas.org.za Type in first names (as per ID number)
Step 2: Type in Surname (as per ID number)
Step 3: Type in your ID number (will your username)
Step 4: Type in your own Email address
Step 5: Type in your own Cell phone number
Step 6: Accept terms and conditions Tick the box provided, to allow NSFAS to check the information provided (compulsory)
Step 7: Create a Password, To (protect your account)
Step 8: Login and Start application process.

How to Apply for NSFAS for 2023
Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za
Step 2: Click on ‘Register’
Step 3: Complete the required fields with your personal details. Details such as ID number, cell phone number and email address.
Step 4: Upload a copy of your ID or birth certificate.
If you are uploading a copy of a Smart ID, please ensure that both sides of the ID are visible on the copy.

Who Qualifies for NSFAS
You qualify for NSFAS if :
You are a SASSA grant recipients
Your combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year
You are a person with a disability with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year
You are a student who begun your university studies before 2018 and your household income is not more than R122 000 per year
