How to Apply for UIF | Unemployment Insurance Fund
Steps on how to apply for UIF unemployment benefits using uFiling system:
- Step 1: Open the web browser and visit https://ufiling. labour.gov.za/uif/
- Step 2: Register on uFiling and log into your uFilling profile.
- • Step 3: Once you are logged into your profile, click on benefit application and payments.
- Step 4: On the drop down menu click on “apply for benefits”.
- Step 5: Click on unemployment benefits and select apply, which is at the bottom right of the screen.
- Step 6: Read the terms and conditions and click on YES and next.
- Step 7: Complete your banking details accurately and click on next.
- Step 8: Double check that your personal information is accurate and update where applicable and click next.
- Step 9: Complete all the required information about your work experience and your academic qualifications. On the same screen, indicate whether you have return to work or not by selecting YES or NO and proceed to click next.
- Step 10: Complete the work seeker details. Choose the Region and Labour Centre that is nearest to where you live. On the same screen, indicate by selecting YES or NO that you are a work seeker capable and available for work. Also select YES or NO to indicate that the reason for termination was a constructive dismissal as per the CCMA.
- Step 11: Click on submit and a message on the screen will appear confirming that your application for unemployment benefit has been
successfully submitted. You will also then receive an email confirmation of your application.
