How to reconfirm your SRD grant is one of the questions you are asking yourself now and you need to get assistance on how to do that. First let’s talk about the SRD Grant itself.
What is an SRD Grant?
This is a grant established by the South African Government to assist people who have been negatively affected by the effects of the lockdown as a control measure for the COVID-19 pandemic. Since it’s inception in 2020, more than 10 million people have benefited from the grant. This grant is administered by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). Beneficiaries who qualifies receive an amount of R350 per month from Sassa. The amount may come as a cash send voucher or can be directly deposited into beneficiary’s bank account.
Who qualifies for the R350 SRD Grant
The following people qualifies for the R350 grant provided that they do not get an income of not more than R624 in their accounts monthly.
- South African citizens, permanent residents residing in the Republic of South Africa
- Must be between the ages of 18 to 59 years old
- Must not be receiving any social grants provided by the government
- Must not be receiving NSFAS bursary
- Must not be residing in any of the government subsidised facilities
How to Reconfirm Your SRD Grant
Step 1: Go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za
Step 2 : Under the subheading, click “reconfirm existing application”
You should be done, please note that this is only for those who received the SRD R350 Grant in the previous cycle. If you have reapplied for the SRD grant for the current cycle, you do not have to reconfirm SRD grant.
It was previously required that after every three months, R350 beneficiaries have to reconfirm if they still need the grant. But Sassa has since put that on hold. So you are no longer need to do it after 3 months.
