Nursing Courses at Unisa 2026: The University of South Africa (UNISA) offers Bachelor of Arts in Nursing Science courses. In particular, qualification 0216X – HSM. This course is currently available to previously registering students. The university is no admitting new students for 0216X-HSM which is a bachelor of arts in nursing programme.
This is a NQF level 6 qualification and 360 credits must be acquired in order for you to complete the programme.
Though this is not available for new student in 2026, here below are application procedures for one to study at UNISA.
Purpose statement
The purpose of this qualification is to help students to acquire skills, knowledge and experience to: solve problems in a professional communication context by working in a team and individually, manage administration, including financial administration, provide organisational support in a communications environment, and exercise ethical conduct, values and professionalism when dealing with clients. Qualifying students can therefore contribute to effective organisational communication and the quality of communication in the public and private spheres.
How to apply to study at UNISA 2026
In order to apply to Nursing at the University of South Africa (UNISA) for the 2026 academic year, you must follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to the UNISA Application portal at https://www.unisa.ac.za
Step 2: Click on the “Admission” tab
Step 3: Click the “Apply for Admission” tab
Step 4: Select your qualification in which you want to apply
Step 5: Read the information you see on the screen very carefully
Step 6: Proceed via the online application process
In order to meet the admission requirements to study nursing at Unisa, it is recommended that candidates must have completed the following subjects in matric: Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Biology.
Candidates who have finished level 4 or literacy level 5 in mathematics, level 4 in physical science and level 4 in biological science will be considered for admission to the programme.
Applicants may only register once they have received confirmation from Unisa that their application for admission has been accepted.
Clinical training takes place in the province’s general and midwifery hospitals, as well as mental hospitals, the community, and community health service centres.
