Firstly, let us break down the question, what is PYEI? PYEI stand for Presidential Youth Employment Intervention or initiative. The popular word mostly used being “initiative” it is a programme initiated by the president office to curb unemployment rate among young people in South Africa.
And What is Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI)
BEEI stand for Basic Education Employment Initiative as described on the heading above.
This is a Presidential Youth Employment Initiative as implemented by the Department of Basic Education. The programme “seeks to confront the devastating economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of government’s broader economic recovery agenda” education.gov.za
Basic Education Employment Initiative Phase 5
Basic Education Employment Initiative Phase 5 is about to open for applications in 2025. The Department of Basic Education has just confirmed that the application for PYEI Phase 5 will commence on the 22nd of April 2025. The application window for BEEI Phase 5 will close on the 9th of May 2025 unless there are some extensions. Interviews and appointments will run for the 19th of May 2025 to 31 May 2025. Selected candidates are expected to start working from June 2025. The programme will run for 5 months as per DBE plans.
