The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) through their social media platforms confirms the grant payment dates for April 2022. This comes after so many people have requested the dates to be published on Sassa social media pages.

The agency has finally released an outline of how the social grants are going to be paid monthly going forward.

They started by saying “SASSA has heard your cry about the social grant payment dates each month!” The message continues “As from April 2022 Social grants will be paid from the second day of the month. If the second day of the month falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payment will take place on the following working day.”

More clarity “As usual, the Older Persons and linked grants will be paid first followed by Disability grants the following day and then child grants.”

They conclude their message by saying “We are a listening organization and we are confident that this arrangement will work for you. We would like to thank all of you for your co-operation and support during the challenging times we have experienced.”

This was welcomed by many people as the message had more than 4000 reactions within 16 hours on posting. But some felt that there is no difference to what they already know. A Facebook user said “I see no difference here” while another one said “Nothing changed la” meaning there is nothing new.
