Sassa Older Pension Grant Payment Date for June 2022

Social grants are distributed and administered by the South African Social Security Agency mostly referred to as SASSA. It is the responsibility of this government entity to make sure that grants are distributed accordingly to the correct person at the right time.

Grant Dependency

Millions of people in South Africa depends on social grants. Each month Sassa distributes more than 18 million social grants to qualifying beneficiaries. These grants are either temporary or permanent. Older pension grant is one of the grants administered by Sassa.

Grant Administration

Other grants that Sassa administered include social relief of distress grant for disaster and COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grant. The SRD grant for disaster is distributed in various forms such and food vouchers or cash. The recent floods in the KwaZulu-Natal is one of the disasters where Sassa issues the SRD Grants for Disasters.

Older Pension Grant

This is the grant for senior citizens from the age of 60 years and above. The amount of the grant differs on age groups. There is an amount for pensioners above 60 years of age but below the age of 70 and one for the pensioners above the age of 70.

Older Pension Grant Payment Date for June

The Older Pension Grant will be paid on 02 June 2022. Other grants will be paid the following working days.

    I am 67 years of age I only get R750 per month old age pension. Wrote to our President, only got a reference number.
    What really gets me,is when I read in a newspaper article that a Foreigner demanded her rights to a pension?how sick is that, a foreigner!
    After numerous calls to social services, no response.
    So a South African man with no other country must suffer, while a foreigner gets her rights.

    1. Phoning is a waste of time. Be prepared to wait when you personally visit SASSA.

  4. Hallo I get Sassa for older person,and is turning 71 on 09/06/22. I was not told that the amount changes when you turn 70
    Do I have to go back to my office in Empangeni to change that or can I phone them?
    Please advise me what to do

    2. The Sasa the Sasa Grant payments must be paid on the 1st of every month even if it is a Holiday or weekend it must be paid like before because we pay our funeral policy and our install ment I thank you

  7. I am not happy with these SASSA grant’s date because our kids are hungry as we speak and now they have to wait until 6th.Can’t you move the date back to the 1st.
