SASSA SRD Grant Clients Urged to Provide Correct Banking Details
You may wonder why your SRD payment is sometimes delayed. Some of the delays may be caused by incorrect banking details. As such, the South African Social Security Agency is urging SRD Grant beneficiaries to provide correct banking details.

About Sassa
Sassa is an agency of the Department of Social Development in South Africa responsible for among other things, administration and distribution of social grants including the Social Relief of Distress Grant.
How much is SASSA SRD Grant?
The SASSA SRD Grant amount is R350 per person per month. To qualify for the grant, one has to meet certain criteria such as receiving monthly income of not more than R624 per month.
The urgency is regularly asking beneficiaries of this grant to submit correct banking details.

Recently, Sassa said “Clients are urged to please provide their correct bank account details so that we can timeously facilitate their grant payments. The bank account should still be active and registered in the applicant’s name.”
How to submit your banking details to Sassa for SRD Grant?
The following are the steps to follow in order to submit your banking details to Sassa:
Step 1: Go to srd.sassa.gov.za
Step 2: Scroll down to where you will find a yellow bar written “How do I change my banking details”.
Step 3: Under that bar, enter your ID number used during application for the grant and hit “Submit”
Step 4: Check your phone for SMS from Sassa. An SMS containing a secure link, unique to you, will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during application.
Step 5: Click on the link in the SMS and follow the instructions carefully.
Step 6: Enter ID Number and hit “Submit” again. Now you should be able to see your current payment option. Do nothing if you don’t want to change those details.
Step 7: To change details, scroll down and click “Capture Own Bank Account”. Select your bank name, branch number, account type and enter your account number on the last block provided and hit “submit”.
That’s the process of submitting banking details to Sassa for the SRD Grant payments.
