Sassa Social Grant Increases Starts in April
The 2022 to 2023 social grant increases to start in April 2022. Do you know how much are the increases? Read further below for the grant increases 2022 to 2023 financial year.
The Minister of Finance indicated the following Sassa grants increase for 2022 financial year period:

Social Grant Increases 2022 to 2023
Sassa Old Age Grant Increase 2022
The pension increase 2022 and war veteran grants increase 2022
The old age grant for pensioners below the age of 75 will increase as indicated below.
Old Age grant will increase from R1 890 to R1 985, a 5% increase.
Pension increase 2022 for pensioners above the age 0f 75
Old Age grant for adults above 75 years and War Veterans grant will increase from R1 910 to R2 005 which is a 5% increase.
Care dependency grant increase 2022
Care Dependency grant will increase from R1 890 to R1 985 which is a 5% increase.
Foster care grant
Foster Care grant will increase from R1 050 to R1 070 which is a 1.9% increase.
Child Support Grant
How much is Sassa child grant 2022?
Currently, child grant is R460, below is an increase plan from the 2022 budget speech.
The Child Grant will increase to from R460 to R480 which is a 4.3% increase.

I am forever grateful for our Sassa Old age Pension.
Please can the payment date be the last day of every month for the next month’s Pension
Eg May 2022 Sassa Old age Pension to pay on the
30th April 2022
Please, please.
My reasons being
The electricity, water,accounts need to be paid by the last day of every month to the Msunduzi Municipality in Pietermaritzburg.
If not paid on time,
Electricity is being disconnected and reconnection fees need to be paid.
Monthly, debit orders for funeral policy needs to be paid on the 1st of every month.
Other commitments also need payment on the 1st of every month.
I do understand that the payment before covid 2 years ago waa on the 1st day of every month.
Please explain why was the payment date changed,
It has really inconvenienced us and prejudiced us as the Old Age Pensioners,
We have served our country well whilst we were in the work environment, we paid our taxes.
This is a humble plea and request to propose this to the government of governance with regards to my humble request.
I speak for the majority of Pensioners.

I think it’s disgusting, for pensioners to receive a mere R95. Cost of living is so high, which they have to succumb to eating pet food or beg. An inmate told me he would rather stay in prison, than to ever be in an old age home. “At least he has a roof over his head, a bead to sleep on and 3 hot meals” it’s disgusting, to think, that the elderly is treated so badly when money has been literally stolen from them, to fill others pockets. They worked hard to build up South Africa, and to be treated without any dignity. It’s disgusting!
Me and my husband only receive R900 together old age and disibility grant our rent per month are R5000
