What Appliances Consumes a lot of energy and How to Save energy?
The following appliances are some of the most consumers of electricity in many households. We should be careful when using them and make sure we only use them when needed.
1. Water heaters
Water heaters like you geysers are some of the higher energy consumers in many households. It is better to switch on the heaters during times when they are mostly needed. You may use time switches to control these appliances at your home. A WiFi switch can be so much useful for the regulations of these devices. Schedule on or off just using your app on your mobile device.
2. Lighting
Lighting also consumes energy in many households, especially the old non-LED ones. Consider switching to LED which are cost effective in order to save on energy consumption. You may also consider adding day/night switches on your lights to avoid them staying on during the day when they are not necessarily needed.
Still, lighting accounts for a significant portion of your electricity usage every month because of how much usage they get. If you have huge flood lights, you must know that more electricity may be consumed there.
3. Refrigerator
Although your refrigerator actually doesn’t require that much energy to run every hour, it racks up quite a bit of electricity usage simply because it’s always on.
4. Washer and dryer
The monthly energy usage of your washers and dryer depends on how often you do laundry, of course. But, when you do run the washer and dryer, they tend to suck up a lot of electricity, especially if you run your washer with hot water. On average, doing laundry accounts for about 5% of your annual electricity usage.
Here are other Ways to Reduce Energy Consumption
Did you know that apart from your geyser, other appliances also use a lot of electricity? Here are a few examples of electrical appliances that can add significantly to your monthly bill. #PleaseUseOnlyWhatYouNeed pic.twitter.com/NvnmDcF6RH
