Stats SA Assessment Test Possible Questions and Suggested Answers 2022
Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) will be embarking on Census 2022 initiative. The initiative was scheduled for 2021 but due to the implications of COVID-19, it was rescheduled for 2022. Stats SA has advertised vacancies for temporary field workers towards the end of 2021 and the recruitment is expected to be finalised end of January 2021. The counting of the population is expected to comment in February 2022.
The appointed field workers also known as enumerators are to be trained on the use of the digital devices to be used in collection data during their house-by-house visits. Stats SA also conduct mini assessments for the recruits.

What is the Enumeration area?
Suggested Answer: This is the smallest geographical unit (piece of land) into which the country is divided for census or survey purposes.
What is the Enumerator?
Suggested Answer: Enumerator is a person who visits households or individuals in a specific enumeration area for the purpose of administration of questionnaires or for self -enumeration.
What is a Dwelling unit?:
Suggested Answer: Dwelling unit is a structure or part of a structure or group of structures occupied or meant to be occupied by one or more than one household.
What about special dwelling institution?
Suggested Answer: Special dwelling institution is a dwelling or structure not privately occupied by a household, but rather by individuals with one or more common characteristics. These dwellings include institutions such as hospitals, prisons, homes for special -care citizens, boarding schools and some workers’ hostels.
What is Post Enumeration Survey (PES) 2022 Mini -Test?
Suggested Answer: The Post Enumeration Survey Mini -Test is conducted to evaluate the quality and coverage of the Census 2021 Mini -Test.

About the Census: Census is a total count of a population whereby all people within the borders of a country are counted. It is the largest undertaking by an organ of state, where everyone in the country is counted. Under the democratic dispensation, Stats SA has conducted three censuses: in 1996, 2001 and 2011. The next census will be conducted in 2022 but was initially scheduled for 2021. The data collected during a census is used for planning, policy and evidence-based decision-making.
