Transnet is inviting applications for its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme, a 12-month internship designed to give students and recent graduates practical workplace experience. The programme bridges the gap between academic studies and the working world by offering hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to real industry tasks.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a WIL trainee at Transnet, you will gain experience in:
• Assisting with departmental projects and operational tasks under supervision
• Supporting administrative work, including documentation and reporting
• Attending training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes
• Shadowing experienced professionals to gain industry insights
• Participating in problem-solving and process improvement activities
• Communicating and collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Conducting market research, data analysis, and preparing reports
• Following company policies, compliance standards, and safety regulations
Who Can Apply
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Completed all theoretical subjects for a Diploma (University of Technology) in Information Technology, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management
• South African citizen aged 18 – 35
• Preference given to People with Disabilities
• No bursary obligation with another organisation
• Must submit a certified Matric certificate, academic record, and a copy of ID
