Sassa has published an infographic about SRD Appeal Process for the current grant cycle. This process applies to those who applied for the Social Relief of Distress Grant from April 2022.

Steps to Submit Your Appeal Online

Visit the Sassa appeal link which is the Social Development Website: https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals  

Step 1: Find the ‘Application for Reconsideration’ tab.

Step 2: Read the terms and conditions

Step 3: Scroll down and click on ‘Click here to lodge an appeal or check appeal status’ green bar

Step 4: Enter your ID number and cellphone number and click ‘Send Pin’

Step 5: Get the Pin and enter it on the space provided

Step 6: Choose the month you want to appeal for. The system will also show you the reason why your application was declined.

Step 7: Select appropriate reason for your appeal application. You select from a drop-down menu on your screen.

Step 8: Press ‘submit’ and the process is complete. All you need to do now is to check the appeal application status on a later stage.

  1. You declined me for no reason you say decline reason source of income but I don’t have income

  5. Since April 2022 my application says pending just want to know when will I get my money?

  6. Sassa has stopped the grant since March. I have to make some ends meet to put food on the table and suddenly I was terminated from getting my R350 grant due to their reasons. I am appealing almost every day but their system is not working

  7. Why show it there isn’t money for me but. if I reply it shows it is active

  9. I cannot understand why they have rejected my srd grant as I am unemployed and have to borrow money from my mom to survive a bit. If looking at my bank records a friend sold his car and just used my bank account as he didn’t have his account number on him all the other money is borrowed that I have to try pay back. Do please reconsider my application as well I am on chronic medication.

  14. You say I have been working yet I don’t you have declined June but April and may pending. What’s the answer here.
