Sassa September Pay Dates and Social Grant Types: South Africa’s social grants are paid monthly and are administered and disbursed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). Sassa is among other things responsible for registering, assessing and approving new applicants for social assistance also known as social grants.

Social Assistance Budgeting
The country’s social assistance amounts are determined by the Treasury Department and budgets allocation as well. On a yearly basis, the Minister of the above-mentioned department tables a budget for all departments including the Social Development Department which then allocate the funding to Sassa, the implementing agency.
Sassa Monthly Grants Payment
Monthly, the South African Social Security Agency distributes social grants to more that 18 million beneficiaries.
Type of Social Grants in South Africa
The following are some of the social grants categories in South Africa administered by Sassa.
Older Pensioner Grants
These are the grants for elderly persons from the age of 60 and above. The amounts for this grant is categorised per age and also if the elderly person has some disabilities as well.
Disability Grants
This is a grant offered to people with disabilities residing within the borders of South Africa.
Child Support Grant
This is a grant offered for children under the age of 18. The grant is paid to the caregiver taking care of the child. It lapses when the child reaches the age of 18. Currently, the amount for this grant is R480 per child.

Approved but no paydate.Why are we given other options to receive our R350 but it’s not in process. I selected the EFT option and now I have a problem getting it thru posted bank even after I updated my banking details several times for the past few months. And receiving a confirmation message that it changed to postbank but it don’t change on sassa system. Tried everything and customer service can’t do anything except tell .e to do same process over .

Hi my son is 17 years old now in grade 11, next year his 18 years old in grade 12 in January and I’m not working we depending on the Sassa money so how to renew his Sassa money as his still at school?
My srd grant was declined in May 2022.It says i have earnings. Yes there was money sent through my account but i am not working and that was not for me. I have appealed, now June is approved with no date of payment. July and August are pending. SASSA PLEASE I NEED THAT R350.
I’ve been without work for 4 years now.The srd grant that applied for is just giving problems every month. I really depend on that money even though it’s so little but at least I can buy a few groceries with that money but it’s a disappointment how a person must struggle to get this money. Department of Social grant must really help us to get this money every month.We struggle in our circumstances.
April payment is still not appearing
May was approved and paid
June was declined and I’m not working and I don’t get any other payment
July is pending
August does not even appear no where
Please I request sassa to investigate and correct the decision to decline my application

I applied from last year August but all the time it comes back saying decline UIF or, alternatively source of income it’s two years now not working for July it days pending I even appealed but nothing

Is because you guys are sorted with the money that’s why you failing to pay people their R350 you declined their application for no reason are aware that people you declined their application are in need of this money this is not fair can you imagine some people recieve their payment for all these money us our application its pending nd approve but we have not received our pay date sine June we still waiting why????????? I got declined for April and May when i called sassa they say I’m getting income i said I’m not working for 10 years. I reapplied and its pending for so long
