She Started a Business with SRD Grant and Now Earns More than R300 per Day
The Minister of Social Development has indicated that R350 grant is not adequate. But further indicated that the government is paying social grants to more than 18 million people in South Africa.

Antendaho’s Business
The R350 grant, for Antendaho from Vondwe in Limpopo has changed her life. On a docuseries by the South African Social Security Agency, Antendaho indicated that she makes between R300 to R500 per day from her business that she started with the R350 grant.
How She Started Her Business?
This young lady applied for her R350 grant in June 2021 and received her first payment in November 2022. While waiting for the grant’s first payout, she has been planning what kind of a business to start. When she receives the money, she decided to start a business of cooking and selling meals in her local village.
The Meals She Makes
Antendaho cooks pap and meat for her clients daily. The meat includes chicken, chicken hearts, chicken intestines and pig feat on a busy road daily.
Before starting the current business, she also made pizza using the child support grant as a start-up.

The Social Relief of Distress Grant is R350 per month for qualifying individuals.

What is SRD R350 Threshold?
For you to qualify for the SRD Grant, you must not be receiving more than R624 per month. It is said that R624 is the poverty line. So, this means that if you receive less than R624 per month, you may be eligible for the R350 grant.

That’s good from the 350 srd money, but my question is if she earned now R300 a day so sassa will now declined you every month your household is now more than 624 a month
How care we start business because we don’t even receive 350 it keep on saying we have a source of income even do we don’t have any money sassa its playing with people iam one of them even hotline they give to us it’s not working
Not working but my R350 got declined bcz my neighbour is using my Capitec account to send money for the lady working as a maid in her house.My plan was to sell fat cakes,chips,dough,chicken legs n heads,boiled eggs,bread with Rama n peanut butter,unfortunately for me a big (Declined) killed my dreams.

I also started my business with r350 whuch i received,i purchased chips,ice lollies and sweets and sold to school kids.This r350 has now been stopped as i receive money from my son for my medical aid,a funeral policy and my dstv which reflects in my bank acc.I have appealed but im pending since april and when i phn sassa im always told to be patient.Can someone plse get back to me ragarding this matter as i am unemployed and not receiving any income.Plse feel free to scrutinise my bank acc again and get back to me and i will state this again i am not reciving any other source of income. i know this is not where i should be voicing my complaint but maybe i will get through to someone this way
How do we open up a business when the working people are collecting our srd sassa R350 Grant’s and we approved but when we go to take it out it says declined everytime
