Now that the older pension’s grants and disability grants have been disbursed, the child support grant beneficiaries must be jubilant that they are next on the Sassa pay roll.

The older pension’s grants were disbursed on the 4^th of April 2022 and the disability grant was disbursed on the 5^th of April 2022. The remaining grants are to be paid on the 6^th of April 2022.

Who qualifies for child support grant?

The following are the qualifying criteria for the Sassa Child Support Grant:

Sassa stated that, Applicants for the child support grant must meet the following requirements:

The primary care giver must be a South African citizen, permanent resident or refugee.

Both the applicant and the child must reside in South Africa.

The applicant must be the primary care giver of the child/ children concerned.

The child/children must been born after 31 December 1993.

The applicant and spouse must meet the requirements of the means test.

Child can not apply for more than six non biological children.

Child cannot be cared for in state institution.
