Invitation for Counsillors Candidates
The Department of Employment and Labour encourages unemployed South African graduates to apply for the 2025/2026 Presidential Youth Development programme, which aims to provide work experience relevant to their qualifications for a duration of ten months from the date of appointment.
Who is Eligible to Apply
Eligible applicants must be unemployed and have not previously participated in any developmental programme.
Basic Requirements
The requirements include a three-year relevant tertiary qualification at NQF6/7 with a major in Psychology or Industrial Psychology, with an Honours Degree in these fields being advantageous. Registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor (Independent practice) or Psychometrist (Independent practice) will also be beneficial.
Duties of the Counsillors
Duties include providing administrative support to the Employment Counsellor, conducting research on labour market needs and best practices in employment counselling, implementing recruitment and selection services, networking with stakeholders to ensure service quality, and registering job seekers.
Salary/Stipend
The stipend for this position is R7450.63 per month.
