The City of Cape Town Metro Police and Traffic Learnership 2025 is open for applications.
The City of Cape Town encourages qualified unemployed individuals between the ages of 18 and 34, who meet the necessary minimum criteria, to submit their applications for a Learnership in Road Traffic Law Enforcement. The Public Safety Training College will conduct the training, which will span 18 months, commencing on June 1, 2025, and concluding on November 30, 2026.

Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification (of which documentary proof must be furnished)
- Be a permanent resident within the jurisdiction of Cape Town (of which documentary proof must be furnished)
- Be proficient in English, and at least one other official language
- Currently unemployed (Students & EPWP staff eligible to apply)
- Be at least 18 years old and under 35 years old
- Must be medically and physically fit to undergo strenuous physical training.
- Applicants should be fully aware of their health status and capabilities when arriving for the fitness assessments, as excellent physical fitness and mental resilience is a requirement for the post.
- Must be able to work in a team and cope with stressful situations
- No Criminal Record
- Must have a valid driving licence license minimum code B (manual transmission)
- No tattoos which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the service.
Very important to note: Please be advised that all candidates who have been shortlisted must complete and successfully pass the mandatory fitness assessments. Each fitness test serves as an elimination stage; therefore, candidates who do not meet the standards of a prior test will be disqualified from continuing to the subsequent assessments.
