Rcon Sassa R350 | Payments for SRD Reconsiderations Have Started

SASSA just announced that the payments for SRD reconsiderations are underway. This was posted on Sassa’s social media platforms on the 15th of June 2022. Sassa has recently said that payments for SRD will be done by mid-June. They have now made an announcement about SRD reconsideration payments (Rcon Sassa R350) but not about the rest of the beneficiaries.

SRD Reconsideration Payments Underway

The agency captioned their message as follows “The COVID19 SRD grant reconsideration payments are now underway!”

The full message reads “SASSA has been dealing with the thorny issue of reconsideration since August 2021. The process has now ended and those who qualify will start receiving their payments this week.” The message further encourages beneficiaries to check their bank notifications.

Collect at Approved Retailers

Sassa also said “ Do not go to the Post Office for collection of your SRD grant. Use any approved retail outlet namely Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer or USave.

The Appeal Process

The appeal or reconsideration process for the SRD grant allows those who have been rejected to get another chance to be evaluated or considered for the grant.

In their previos message Sassa indicated that those who appealed from August 2021 and their applications for reconsiderations were successful, will be processed by the end of June 2022. “Beneficiaries whose reconsideration applications outcome were successful, will be paid accordingly.”

Payments From August 2021

Sassa also said that payments for those successful reconsideration applicants will be done after the applications have been processed. “Reconsiderations from August 2021 are expected to be processed by end June 2022 and payments will then happen thereafter.”

How to Appeal or apply for SRD reconsiderations?

Here are two ways to lodge SRD appeal if it has been declined:

Submit your appeal online

Visit the SRD Website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za      

Step 1: Find the ‘Application for Reconsideration’ tab.

Step 2: Click on where it says ‘click here to apply for reconsideration’.

Step 3: You will be asked to provide your ID number and Mobile number.

Step 4: Follow the prompts to complete the reconsideration of your payment.

How to Submit Appeal via Telephone

Step 1: Call Sassa on 0800 60 10 11 

Step 2: Select option 3

Step 3: Speak to the Sassa consultant to lodge your reconsideration request.

  2. Hi I did my appeal from October till March cause I didn’t get the money from October till March 2022 cause the system keeps on saying decline reason uif registered

    It’s since last year and I have not yet received any srd.
    I check may status online on srd.
    It says approve and shows all the approved time’s but still have not received any srd.
    In may bank account.
