Reconfirm SRD Application in September

Sassa regulations for the SRD Grant require that beneficiaries reconfirm their applications every three month. This is to let Sassa know that the beneficiary still needs the Social Relief of Distress Grant.

Who Should Reconfirm SRD Application in September?

If you have applied for the SRD Grant about three months ago, you should be required to reconfirm your application. Those who have applied for the R350 Grant back in June 2022, their three months period has lapse. If the rule still applies, they must reconfirm SRD application in September.

Why is It Important to Reconfirm Sassa Application?

All SRD R350 grant applicants must reconfirm their grant applications at least once every 3 months. When you do the reconfirmation, you will be informing SASSA that you still need and qualify for the grant in terms of the regulations. Sassa will on monthly basis review your application against all the databases in order to approve your application.

What is the minimum threshold for SRD Grant?

For you to qualify for the R350 SRD Grant, you must not be receiving income of more than R624 per month. That is the threshold for the SRD Grant. Sassa do check your income flow to confirm this monthly. Whatever monies that goes into your account will be counted as your money even if it is not for your personal use. For example, if your cousin sends you money to pay for a funeral cover and that money went through your account, the money is counted as income received.

How to reconfirm SRD Application in September?

Here are the steps to follow in order to submit your reconfirmation to Sassa:
Step 1: Go to the SRD website here or click https://srd.sassa.gov.za

Step 2: Scroll down to “Reconfirm your grant application”

Step 3: Click the yellow bar that reads “click here to reconfirm your existing application”

Step 4: Enter your ID number 

Step 5: Enter you mobile number

Step 6: Click send SMS, You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) via SMS

Step 7: Enter the OTP

Step 8: Click on verify pin

Step 9: Follow the remaining steps to complete the process, then you are done.
