SRD Appeal: R350 Appeals to be finalised by end of June

The appeal process for the SRD grant allows those who have been rejected to get another chance to be evaluated or considered for the grant. Sassa has previously experienced difficulties in finalising reconsiderations but now they made an announcement as to when are they going to finalise the appeals.

Outstanding Reconsiderations

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has made an announcement about the outstanding appeals. They indicated that those who appealed from August 2021 and their applications for reconsiderations were successful, will be processed by the end of June 2022.

In a message on their social media platforms, Sassa said “Beneficiaries whose reconsideration applications outcome were successful, will be paid accordingly.”

SRD Payments

Sassa also said that payments for those successful reconsideration applicants will be done after the applications have been processed. “Reconsiderations from August 2021 are expected to be processed by end June 2022 and payments will then happen thereafter.”

SRD Appeal: How to Appeal or apply for reconsiderations?

Here are two ways to lodge SRD appeal if it has been declined:

Submit your appeal online

Visit the SRD Website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za      

Step 1: Find the ‘Application for Reconsideration’ tab.

Step 2: Click on where it says ‘click here to apply for reconsideration’.

Step 3: You will be asked to provide your ID number and Mobile number.

Step 4: Follow the prompts to complete the reconsideration of your payment.

How to Submit Appeal via Telephone

Step 1: Call Sassa on 0800 60 10 11 

Step 2: Select option 3

Step 3: Speak to the Sassa consultant to lodge your reconsideration request.

  2. This sassa is toying with us why can’t they just shutdown this srd program of theirs coz it clear working for them not us,they made a mid June promise payment to citizens then now they say end of June…this ppl ar too clever they are gaming probably placing bet too

  3. I have been applying since 2021 but my application has been declined due to UIF and I dnt get any of that money anymore and am struggling financially but yet sassa doesn’t want to pay r350 bcz I once paid uif claim

  4. I’m not working but I didn’t get any 360 grant I have applied for it and also did the appeal but there is still no answers sassa is failing dismally and yet people who work for the government have got this grant while we are suffering they are enjoying those thieves

    1. I was receiving the grant but suddenly feb i did not get the grant reason being Uif and I’m not receiving any uif.

  5. Why does Sassa decline our applications because of uif that we know nothing about? And if Labour owes us uif , why don’t they just send us a notification to say come n claim ur money. It’s really unfair cos some of has no income at all, at all

    1. I would advise that you go to Dept of Labour and request them to close any previous employer’s file against your name

  16. How can one check reconsideration for srd if the option has been removed off their website its all stalling tactics and the truth is that they are not going to honor August 2021 to date. An excuse of some kind will be conjured up. Its a disgrace that people who has contributed to this countrys economy all their working lives are left at the mercy of these people honestly….
