In February 2022, the president extended the SRD R350 grant for another 12 months. That means, the grant was supposed to end on the 31st of March 2022 but instead it will end on the 31st of March 2023.

Do I need to reapply for R350 Grant?

There are several questions you may be asking yourself relating to R350 Grant extension. One such question could be, do I need to reapply for the R350 grant? The answer is NO; you do not have to reapply if you have been approved already. Sassa will continue making provisions for your payment for the next 12 months.

What about the declined applicants?

When will R350 Grant end?

The R350 SRD Grant is scheduled to end on the last day of March 2023, which is 31 March 2023. This is due to the extension announced and granted by the president of the country, Cyril Ramaphosa during his State of The Nation Address earlier in February. Grant recipients will be able to access the grant for an additional year. This grant is managed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).

Is SRD Grant increased to R500?

The SRD Grant has not been increased to R500. It remains R350 as before. There are several incorrect news feeds on the social media about the increase of R350 grant. There is also false information about what is called Sassa R700 Grant. Do not be mislead by these false information. Sassa constantly warns the public about false information on social media. They say a little goes a long way,but really with a 350 you can only buy groceries for one night,cause everything is expensive,you still short toiletries,Washing powder, there’s still so many things to buy and the main issue is electricity that is so expensive, how will you survive.its really heartbreaking.

  3. Yes I do thi k that it should be increased
    Because R350 jus covers your bare minimum basic food
    What about those who need to buy or pay foe there electricity
    I think an increase of R500 is sufficient
