The University of South Africa (UNISA) has finally made an announcement about NSFAS allowance for 2022. This was one of the big questions Unisa students were asking themselves without answers.

According to Unisa student funding information from Unisa’s website, student allowances will be paid as follows:

Learning Material Allowance and Living Allowance for 2022

Learning material: Unisa NSFAS-funded students are only entitled to a Learning Material Allowance (LMA) and Living Allowance (LA). Read more at Unisa.ac.za

When will Unisa students get NSFAS allowance for 2022?

Unisa NSFAS allowance 2022 to be disbursed from April 2022. The University of South Africa posted an announcement on their website which reads “The 2022 NSFAS allowances disbursements will commence in April 2022 once NSFAS payments have been received at the beginning of April 2022. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and we will do our best to release the allowances as soon funds are received from NSFAS.” Read from Unisa’s website.

Possible delays for late allowance payouts

Here are possible reasons why allowance payments are delayed:

• UNISA is waiting for NSFAS to confirm if registration data submitted is successfully processed or linked.
• Allowances maybe reserved for laptop purchase.
• Student to confirm if funding is not withdrawn by NSFAS.
• Allowances have not yet been received from NSFAS
