The Minister of Basic Education in the Republic of South Africa has just announce a new date for the release of matric results for the class of 2024.

New Matric Results Release Date 2025
The results were initially scheduled to be announced on the 15th of January 2025 but the Minister made some changes.
Basic Education Minister Gwarube confirmed that the final results will be announced on 13 January 2025 and the provincial education departments will release the results to candidates on 14 January 2025.
How many matriculants wrote exams in 2024
Over 880 000 candidates have written the Senior Certificate examinations in 2024 and over 15 000 candidates wrote the IEB exams. Now that the writing have been concluded, the markings have to commence.
Marking of Matric Exams in 2024 Start to End Dates
The exam markings are set to begin from 1 December 2024 and set to conclude on the 10th of December 2024.
Examination Markers Employed
A total of 181 marking centres have been established across South Africa with 50,000 markers employed. To date, 60 of the planned 164 marking standardisation meetings have been held.
