NSFAS Approved List 2022 Released

In a nut shell

National Student Financial Aid Scheme has released list of 2022 qualifying student to the 26 public universities and 50 TVET colleges. NSFAS, on their Twitter page @myNSFAS, posted a notification with a media release in the evening of 02 February 2022.

Today marks the official day of the release of NSFAS list of qualifying applicants for the 2022 academic year. On their press released published on their (NSFAS) Twitter page, NSFAS has confirmed that a list of qualifying student applicants has been sent to the public universities and TVET colleges. Students are urged to consult their institutions’ funding offices for enquires about this list. It is also worth noting that those with successful statuses must go or register with their institutions. No need to pay registration fees as the fees for the funded students have been waived.

Real-time decisions for applicants

NSAFS further said that of the 906 429 applicant, 267 748 (30% of applicants) have received real-time decisions when submitting their applications via myNSFAS portal.

Appeal for those rejected

Those who have not been successful are urged to appeal the decision if they feel that they qualify. Appeal will officially open on 03 February 2022. Appeals can be logged via nsfas.org.za. Supporting documents to back the appeals will be needed when students send their appeals. Affidavits will not be considered as supporting documents.

  3. My name is Potlako Hope Modise. I applied for the NSFAS funding on time in 2019 but because the funds were never approved I ended up losing an opportunity to study at UCT or Pretoria University as they were the 2 universities which had accepted me at that time. I then decided to upgrade my maths and science subjects which really paid off as I have been accepted at Wits University in the medicine field. This time my parents had to apply for loans and even borrow from family members and still I have not received any feedback from NSFAS and everytime I log onto their website its either jammed or showing the same message that they are busy with fixing the system. Now the is a list of approved students for funding but still I can’t access the list. My parents only managed to pay for registration, 1 month rent for accommodation but still don’t have the money for text books and the classes start on 28/02/2022 and what’s frustrating the most is I cannot ask anyone at NSFAS if the funding is approved because everytime you call their offices you are referred back to online. I can’t afford to spend another 12 months at home while watching the situation at home becoming more and more dire especially now that my mom can’t go back work because she did a spine operation and she cannot walk. I am my family’s hope and all I ask is a chance to make it work for all of us at home by acquiring the degree. Please NSFAS, or anybody who is willing to assist, please give me this opportunity to improve the lives of my family!!!!

Iam successfully admitted at South Cape college for this academic year 2022 but with no Nsfas, I tried to apply when I got here but I was told that Nsfas has closed the Application, I do feel that this is unfair how can they close while a lot of students Haven’t applied now how am I going to Study without money how am I going to pay rent, I do ask for a chance so that we can all apply for Nsfas i beleive there are slot of students who’s looking for that opportunity just like me

      I applies to unisa and I have withstanding documents. I’ve tried to contact them numerous times and not been answered. As well as my NSFAS applications, I have not gotten any response.
