STET Bursary for 2026
About the Programme
STET (Support Teacher Empowerment Trust) is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded to Black Female students, for undergraduate studies within STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) at UNISA.

Who Qualifies for the STET Bursary for 2026
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be Black
- You must be Female
- You must be between 18 and 35 years old
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards an undergraduate qualification within a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- You must be studying or intend on studying at UNISA

Application Process for STET Bursary for 2026
Applications must be submitted online at: STET Bursary Application 2026
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric final results/ certificate (certified copy)
- Latest academic record, if currently studying (certified copy)
- Motivational letter to support your application (read our tips on how to write a motivational letter for your bursary application)

This bursary closes on 5 January 2026.
